How Big of a Cage does a Macaw Need?
Large macaw cages are indeed what the bird pet needs. When it comes to macaws, all you need is to identify the breed of your macaw pet.
It is recommended to have at least 34-inch wide, 24-inch deep, and 36-inch tall as a minimum standard for the smaller macaws such as the yellow, scarlet, and hyacinth-colored ones.
On the other hand, larger macaws need extra space. It is suggested to have a 36 inches wide size, 48 inches deep, and 60 inches tall, with a bar spacing of three-fourths to one inch, for larger breeds. Huge-sized macaws are classified as military, blue and gold, and green-winged macaws.
